Additional CFR Personnel Announced

Additional CFR PersonnelOctober 3, 2019

The Canadian Professional Rodeo Association completed its roster of CFR personnel selections who will be part of the action at Westerner Park October 29 - November 3.

David Poulsen, 2015 Cowboy of the Year and 2008 Announcer of the Year, will be making his sixth CFR appearance. Poulsen’s lengthy and prestigious career includes four decades of CPRA announcing, 32 consecutive years at the Calgary Stampede and numerous television credits. The Claresholm, AB broadcaster and award winning author will join nine time Announcer of the Year, Brett Gardiner to bring all the CFR arena highlights to rodeo fans.

Another rodeo personality long-recognized as a stand-out in his field is Dennis Halstead, official clown and barrel man of the 2019 Finals. The nine-time Comedy Act of the Year honoree will be making his fourth CFR appearance. Halstead criss-crosses North America all season long - keeping rodeo fans well-entertained. The Okotoks, AB resident was also twice named alternate barrelman at the WNFR.

Rodeo photographer, Billie-Jean Duff, has been named official CFR arena photographer for the second straight year. The southern Alberta resident, who has held a CPRA membership since 2011, counts among her accomplishments: 2018-19 Calgary Stampede arena photographer, 2018 PRCA RAM National Circuit Finals photographer and 2018-19 WNFR selected photographer (background in 2018; arena photographer in 2019). Duff will be joined in the Westerner Park arena by fellow CPRA photographer, Chantelle Bowman of Wildwood Imagery. And CPRA-PBR photographer, Covy Moore, will be making his second straight CFR appearance as official background shooter.

Making her first appearance as CFR rodeo secretary is Catherine Laycraft of Calgary, AB. Laycraft came to the rodeo world in 1995 as secretary of her (then) hometown event, the Millarville Rodeo. She joined the professional rodeo secretary ranks in 2002, starting her career at the legendary Hand Hills Lake Stampede. Laycraft is part of the Calgary Stampede’s rodeo staff, serving as Program Manager, Agriculture and Western Events. Laycraft’s rodeo involvement also includes her serving as secretary-treasurer for the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame.

CFR ‘46 will be available by Flo Rodeo live stream once again with co-hosts Dustin Edwards and Tim Edge at the microphones. Both individuals are seasoned and respected CPRA rodeo announcers, and both have been a part of previous CFR live stream productions. Edwards and Edge will be joined on air by former Miss Rodeo Canada and talented broadcaster, Katy Lucas.
