FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The first Canadian Professional Rodeo Association event of the year is in the books and a champion has been crowned! Brock Radford was named the champion of the Chad Besplug Invitational Bull Riding after besting the line-up of some of Canada’s top bull riders.
Radford came in to the short go in second spot behind 2013 PBR Canada Champion Zane Lambert. When Radford saw his draw for the short round he said he knew he had a chance at victory. His 87 point short-go performance on Girletz Rodeo’s Freakazoid, added to his earlier 86 gave the second generation cowboy 173 on two, a cheque for $4,313 and the early lead in the CPRA bull riding standings.
“Freakazoid bucked me off last year at Ranchman’s but I knew what I did wrong on him, so when I drew the bull (in Claresholm), Kevin Girletz was pretty happy and we knew I had a good chance on him,” said Radford.
The competition was tough at the Chad Besplug Invitational but what made the event a great kickoff to the Canadian Professional Rodeo Season was the amount of work that went into the production. As the video shows, the event producer, Chad Besplug, production teams and the bull riders all came together to put on quite a show for fans in Claresholm. ... complete results here
