NFR Open Wraps Up in Colorado

Scott Guenthner and Jenna Dallyn – NFR Open Champions

Top Pro Rodeo cowboys and cowgirls from the U.S. and Canadian Circuits, plus National Champs from Mexico gathered in Colorado Springs, Colorado July 9-13 for the NFR Open. With over one million in payouts and five days of exciting competition, including the top three finishers in each event advancing to the NFR Open Championship Round Saturday evening at the Norris Penrose Event Centre, the 2024 Champions were declared.

Congratulations to four-time Canadian steer wrestling champion and NFR qualifier Scott Guenthner who earned the steer wrestling title. The Provost, Alberta cowboy, who competed in Pool C, split 3-4 in round 1, won round two and was a speedy 3.5 seconds in the Championship round for an (unofficial) total of $17,125.

And CFR qualifier Jenna Dallyn from Nanton, Alberta was named 2024 NFR Open Breakaway Roping Champion after a Pool A fourth place finish in round 1, a split of first in round 2, and the Finals win with a 2.4 second run (overall unofficial total earnings: $16,325). Well done Jenna!
