Precision Rodeo Series at Mid-Point in Season
With the Precision Rodeo Series just past the half-way point in the 2026 season, a number of Pro Rodeo Canada athletes made significant gains in the Series based on their success at the Daines Ranch Rodeo in Innisfail, AB last weekend.
2019 Canadian Bareback Champion Orin Larsen made the most of his match-up with C5 Rodeo’s 5F14 She-La to win the rodeo, add 85 points to his total and move to the Series lead. Innisfail hometown cowboy, Ben Robinson, also a 2026 Daines Ranch Champion, came from third spot in the Series to a share of the lead in the tie-down roping event. Other athletes who made significant moves in the Precision Rodeo Series include steer wrestlers Landon Beardsworth and Quentin Branden and barrel racer Karlie Cowie. See current Series rankings here.
Presented by Precision Well Servicing (PWS) and Precision Drilling (PD), the Series features eleven rodeos and offers top-ranked competitors in each major event and breakaway roping a $1000 cash prize when the Series wraps up at Hanna Pro Rodeo in September.
Contestants earn points at all 11 events, with the top point earner in each major event (per side in Team Roping) and the top Breakaway Roper earning the Precision Rodeo Series Championship. Points are awarded based on event placings—60 points for 1st place down to 10 points for 6th place—as well as a bonus 25 points for every event in the Series that a contestant enters.
