The NFR Open at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is where the top professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls in the U.S., Canada and Mexico compete to be named PRCA National Circuit Champions. The 2026 edition of the NFR Open kicked off July 14 at Norris Penrose Event Center, Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo in Colorado Springs, CO.
PRORODEO Champions from the U.S. Rodeo Circuits and the Canadian Maple Leaf Circuit, plus National Champs from Mexico will compete in three Pools July 14-18, with a Finals set for Saturday evening, July 18.
The field at the NFR Open is divided into Pool A (7:30 p.m. MT, Tuesday, July 14 & 7:30 p.m. MT Wednesday, July 15), Pool B (7:30 p.m. MT, Thursday, July 16 & 12:30 p.m. MT, Friday, July 17) and Pool C (7:30 p.m. Friday, July 17 and 12:30 p.m. MT, Saturday, July 18).
The top three finishers on two head from each pool advance to the nine-man, winner-take-all short round at 7:30 p.m. MT on July 18.
The NFR Open at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo presented by John Deere will be televised on The Cowboy Channel and streamed on The Cowboy Channel Plus App.
