With the best regular season of his young career nearing completion, Thorhild, Alberta bareback rider, Ethan Mazurenko, rolled into the Massey Ferguson Pro Tour stop in La Crete, Alberta (Field of Dreams Pro Rodeo) and captured the 2026 title.
The 23 year-old rode longtime cowboy favourite D3 Barcelona City from Outlaw Buckers to a big-time 86 points for the win and $2816. With the post-season rapidly approaching, Mazurenko sits a solid 4th in the Canadian standings and 7th in the Tour standings. It was the second year in a row Barcelona City carried a cowboy to the La Crete winner’s circle as a year ago it was Jacob Stemo splitting first and second with an 85.5 on the 13 year-old bay mare.
And team ropers Kavis Drake (2024 Canadian Heading Champ) along with CFR Heeling partner Denim Ross made the most of their appearance at the popular La Crete Rodeo as well. The pair clocked a speedy 4.1 seconds for $2664.90 each to add to their Massey Ferguson Tour points and overall top three season rankings.
