We celebrate Rodeo and Family during Round 4 of CFR 52!

Oct 10, 2026 #Pro Rodeo Canada #sport

* CFR Performance 4 Preview by Clay Creasy

Round 4 will open with singer Taylor Stephens, the 2025 CFR Anthem contest winner, performing the Canadian anthem.

We also celebrate Family Day during the Saturday Matinee performance with Denim Couture. Rock the Canadian tuxedo with denim-on-denim looks, or pair the perfect plaid shirt with stylish jeans. Perfect for a day of family fun.

As we enter Round 4, we will look at the competitors who look to play spoiler going into the final day of CFR 52.

Bareback Riding presented by CLAAS

Both the Bareback Riding and the Saddle Bronc Riding face their ‘sweet’ pens, where the cowboys should be able to make their best spur rides on some really fun horses!

After being shut out of the go-round money so far at CFR 52, Bodee Lammers, Chett Deitz, Cruz McNulty and plan to change that in Round 4. Lammers will face Calgary’s A-47 Arbitrator Joe, Deitz draws another Calgary horse in G-80 Gauged Logic, and McNulty will climb aboard Vold’s T1 Dancing Queen.

Steer Wrestling presented by CVS Controls

Six-time Canadian Champion Cody Cassidy picked up his first cheque of CFR 52 with a second place finish last night. He can claim a share of the go-round and aggregate payouts on Saturday.

Bret Marshall also placed during Round 3, and will want to keep the good times rolling to wrap up his first CFR appearance.

Quentin Branden has one paycheque sandwiched between two no-times at his second CFR, but the Massey Ferguson Tour Finals Champion wants to make two solid runs to move up the leaderboard on the final day of the 2026 CPRA season.

Ladies Breakaway Roping presented by Cook County Saloon

Jessica Gunsch has placed in the first and third rounds, and with only one competitor roping all three of their calves, the third generation roper can factor greatly into the go-round and aggregate pictures.

After their first qualified runs still fell outside the top five on Friday, Mikenna Schauer and Lawrie Neal enter Saturday wanting to make the type of runs that helped Schauer to claim the 2025 CFR aggregate title and Neal to the 2024 Season Leader award.

Junior Steer Riding presented by UFA

With Ryder Topolinski having secured the 2026 Steer Riding Championship heading into their final performance, Ridge Flundra and Hayes Howe both come in hoping to make their third rides of CFR 52, along with some go-round and aggregate earnings.

Ladies Barrel Racing presented by RAM

Tammy Lee Taylor made the fastest run of CFR 52 last night, only to be matched. Only three barrel racers have made three clean runs, and in the event with the deepest field of potential champions remaining, looks to make more of those sub-14 second runs.

Pamela Morrison has yet to place this week, but can still make a big difference with two runs to go.

Tie-Down Roping presented by FarmFair International

Stran Dunham made a great run to earn a split of second place in Round 3,and has proven he can put together a string of great runs in this building during last year’s CFR.

Jason Smith walked back to his horse with what would have been the fastest time of round 3, only to have his calf get up. With nothing to lose in the last two performances, his gameplan will be about making some more rapid runs.

Shay Stewart wants to leave his first CFR appearance with some more go-round money after getting on the board on Friday night. He looked confident as he walked back to his horse, and will look to carry that confidence into his fourth and fifth runs.

Saddle Bronc Riding presented by Calgary Stampede

For K’s Thomson and Wanchuk brothers Kolby and Kyle, CFR 52 hasn’t gone the way they planned. Thomson pairs up with Vold’s 955 Enigma, an electric horse that should fit his style nicely. Younger brother Kyle finds his name beside Duane Kesler’s 75 Boss Feeds Miscrient, a horse that has been ridden to CFR go-round wins in the past, while older brother Kolby will saddle up Macza’s -728 Texas Tough, a fitting name for a cowboy gritting out some injuries.

Team Roping presented by Century Mile Racetrack & Casino

With only two times and a fifth place cheque between them, the teams of Ty Vaile and Tyce McLeod, Levi Schmidt and Trent Tunke, and Jon Peterson and Riley Wakefield fully intend to show up on Saturday and leave Edmonton with a much greater portion of the CFR purse.

Bull Riding presented by Explore Edmonton

With a tough pen of bulls for the Saturday matinee performance, it doesn’t get easier for a group of riders who have largely struggled to find success during CFR 52.

Coy Robbins made a statement on Friday night with his go-round winning ride, and the Matinee performance provides an even bigger test against the CPRA Bull of the Year, Vold’s -116 All Gold Rolex. The cagey veteran wants to win as much as anybody, and this matchup will be worth watching.

Auzyn Corr’s CFR debut hasn’t gone according to plan, but his matchup with another Vold bull, 175 Effective, can change the outlook of his week with a qualified ride. Given the riding percentage on this pen on Night 1, making the whistle could leave some extra ground money to be had.
