Ben Andersen spurred out a solid 85 score on the Calgary Stampede’s D-34 Diamond Crystal in the long round at Gunner’s Bronc Battle in Gleichen, Alberta June 11. The Eckville, Alberta cowboy teamed up with the Big Stone Rodeo bronc Cinch Jeans Fired Up for a big time 88 score to take home the short round cheque of $5000.00. That winning ride coupled with a 3/4 long-round split, gave the three-time NFR qualifier and 2023 CPRA season leader a total payday of $7360. Andersen’s Bronc Battle success will provide a major boost to his season earnings as he was in 10th spot on the Canadian leaderboard and 19th in the world standings before the event. Brody Wells topped the field in the long go with 88.5 points on Big Stone Rodeo’s 711 Rubels for $4264 and overall winnings of $8014.
