Stage is Set for 2025 Maple Leaf Circuit Finals

The Maple Leaf Rodeo Circuit, endorsed by the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) includes over 35 rodeos on the annual CPRA roster, and concludes each year with an exciting four day Finals at Regina, Saskatchewan’s Canadian Western Agribition (CWA).

This year’s Finals – slated for November 26-29 – runs for four nights during Agribition and features the ten top contestants from the 2025 Maple Leaf Circuit in each of the eight major rodeo events.

Not only does the event provide a springboard for cowboys and cowgirls pursuing a 2026 CFR berth, it also qualifies two people (the MLC Finals aggregate champion and the overall Maple Leaf Circuit champion) for the NFR Open event in Colorado Springs in July, 2025 and that, in turn can have an impact on the world standings for those able to excel in Colorado. Canadian Steer Wrestling Champion, Scott Guenthner made the most of his trip to Colorado in 2024, gaining an important boost in his pursuit of a 2024 NFR berth.

With the circuit finals money counting in both the CPRA and PRCA 2026 standings, it’s no surprise that the event has played a key role in CPRA athletes working hard to get a head start on the next season, winning Canadian titles and qualifying for the WNFR. More and more rodeo athletes look forward to penciling in an end of November date in Regina.

Heading to the Saskatchewan capital next week are a mix of Canadian Champions, Circuit Champions and those relatively new to the Pro Rodeo scene, looking for a first CFR berth.

Saddle bronc rider Lucas Macza, is another returning Maple Leaf Circuit Finals contestant. After winning his third overall Circuit title and his first Finals win a year ago, Macza was quick to point to the confidence boost the Circuit Finals provides. “It’s huge,” he acknowledged. “I never thought I would’ve ridden alongside the awesome guys who have won this event, so to do that and be on top means you’re supposed to be here, and you can compete with them. It makes you believe in yourself and strive for greatness.”

Among the other 2024 overall Circuit winners and Finals champions returning to Regina’s Brandt Centre next week are bareback rider Kody Lamb, team roping header Grady Quam (roping with Devin Wigemyr) and heeler Denim Ross (who is paired up with Moose Jaw’s Kavis Drake), barrel racers Blake Molle and Brooke Wills, breakaway roper Bobbi Henderson, tie-down roper Logan Bird and bull rider Edgar Durazo.

Look for a strong contingent of rough stock as well from official event stock contractor C5 Rodeo along with several sub-contractors.

Note: Saturday’s rodeo is dedicated to the Golden Circle of Champions, which supports children facing pediatric cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
