Rodeo Community Loses Connie Patterson

Dawson Creek Stampede

April 24, 2026 – Our rodeo family learned yesterday that, sadly, we’ve lost Connie Patterson.

A strong force in the Dawson Creek, BC agricultural community – particularly in the cattle, rodeo and chuckwagon racing industries – Connie was a ‘super-volunteer’ when it came to the Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede and the spring rodeo.

Connie’s love of the western way of life, her organizational skills, along with her book keeping training, benefited a number of organizations – including the Dawson Creek Exhibition where Connie wore numerous hats, among them the position of President for many years. In recognition of Connie’s contributions, and those of her team, Connie Patterson was named Canadian Professional Rodeo Association Committee Person of the Year in 2024.

All of us at Pro Rodeo Canada extend our condolences to Connie’s family, the Dawson Creek community and to Connie’s many rodeo friends and colleagues.

Memorial service information will be shared as details are available.
