The rodeo community is deeply saddened by the passing of TJ Baird from Halkirk, Alberta. A revered bull fighter in Canadian rodeo, TJ fought bulls at many Canadian rodeos, as well as in the U.S., during his lengthy career – including an impressive 11 consecutive times at the Canadian Finals Rodeo (1996-2006).

A natural and gifted athlete, TJ was renowned for his calm demeanor, his bravery and his uncanny ability to read livestock, including bucking bulls. From a long time rodeo family, TJ is the son of stock contractor Bob Baird and CPRA timer Maxine Baird. He will be remembered as well by his three sons Brody, Brandyn and Jett, his brother and sister-in-law Tom and Sandy Baird and their children Brad (Jessie), the mother of his children Kendra, fellow bull fighters, the many bull riders he assisted through the years and numerous family and friends in the rodeo and agricultural community. The CPRA extends condolences to all.

A celebration of TJ’s life will be held Saturday, November 30, 2:00 pm, at the Stettler Agriplex in Stettler, Alberta.
