GROUND RULES
SB, BB, BR, LBR
-       1 full go-round, with finals (12)
TD, SW, TR
-       2 full go-rounds with finals (12)
Back to back, same day. First go-round run will be in the slack, each morning. Second go-round run will be in the afternoon performance, the same day. (i.e., if a contestant is up in the first slack for his go-round run, he will be up in the first performance for his second go-round run.)
TDR
-       Cattle will be tied each morning at 8:30 am, and then drawn.
LBR
-       Ladies Barrel Racing will be run in, run out as per the C.P.R.A. Rulebook
-       There will be a maximum of sixteen (16) contestants in a performance and the rake will be after ½ contestants in the performance with the most entries on paper.
-       The out gate will remain open (track) during the event
-       Barrel racers must exit through the out gate (track), failing to do so will result in a no time. (All barrel racers enter through right hand lane)
TR
-       Money won in Team Roping will not count for High Point or All-Around
-       There will be a maximum of ten (10) teams per day
-       Both members of the team must be full members and/or Semi Pro
Slack 
-       Slack will start at 9:30 A.M., MDT each morning. The order will be steer wrestling followed by tie-down roping and team roping.
-       No barrel racing slack.
Qualifications in TDR/SW 
-       Will take a maximum of 84 contestants in each event.
-       To qualify…
§  $1,500 won in each event entered in the 2014 CPRA or PRCA Standings
If more than 84 contestants qualified from the above, then contestants with the least amount of money won will be drawn out.  If there are still positions available:
§  $1,000 won in each event entered in the 2015 CPRA standings as of June 8, 2015 or PRCA Standings as of June 8, 2015.
If there are now more than 84 contestants entered, contestants with the least amount of money won from the above qualifications ($1,000 won) will be drawn out.
-       Money won on Semi Pro/Permit DOES NOT COUNT.
Qualifications in LBR – Full Members ONLY
-       LBR – Will take a maximum of 96 contestants based on the combined CPRA & WPRA Standings as of ­­­June 8, 2015.
Qualification in TR – Full & Semi Pro Members ONLY
-       If more than 60 teams enter, only full carded teams will be accepted and the remaining teams drawn out.  If teams are drawn out, only teams that are both full members will remain entered.
Qualifications in SB – Full Members ONLY
-       Top 72 based on the combined CPRA & PRCA Standings as of June 8, 2015.
Qualifications in BB – Permits Maximum
Qualifications in BR – No Permits
Medical Exemption
-       Consideration will be given those members who qualified in 2014 but because of injuries were unable to compete at any rodeo after July 1, 2014. 
-       A letter on doctors letterhead must be submitted to the CRES office prior to entries opening, this letter must detail the time frame in which contestant was unable to compete. 
-       **Injury information must be given to CRES at the time of entry.
Novice Saddle Bronc & Novice Bareback
-       No Cross Entry from the open to the novice.
-       No more than two (2) contestants can enter in a buddy group in both novice events.
Steer Riding Format
-       Format will be determined by the committee at entries closing time (one head or two)
June 25th Performance
-       A maximum of twelve (12) contestants will be drawn into the first (1st) performance at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 25. (Will accept 16 contestants in the LBR)
-       There will be no Novice Saddle Bronc, Novice Bareback or Steer Riding held during the first (1st) performance.
Please note: Section VII, A. 1. & 3. AND Section VIII A. 13. of the CPRA Rulebook will be strictly enforced by the Wrangler PrO RODEO Officials.
FINALS
-       $5,000 will be held out in each of the seven (7) major events for the finals.
-       Four (4) monies will be paid in the short go in the seven (7) major events. Split 40, 30, 20, 10.
TD, SW, TR
-       Top twelve (12), ties will be broken by the fastest time on any one head. If still tied, the tie will be broken by the second fastest time on any one head. If still tied the Canadian Standings as of June 15, 2015 will be the tie breaker.
SB, BB, BR
-       Top twelve (12) – In the event of a tie, go back to judges’ card, the high mark contestant on the cowboy spur ride will break ties.  If still tied, the Canadian standings as of June 15, 2015 will be the tie breaker
LBR
-       If a tie still exists all be will taken over twelve (12). The rake will be after ½ of the contestants in the finals.
Turning Out of Finals
-       Contestants who turn out of the Finals must notify the local rodeo office by June 30, 2015 no later than 6:00 pm MT
-       A five hundred dollar ($500) turn out fine will apply if contestant fails to notify by the specified time. 
-       Contestants who are a notified turnout or contestants who are unavailable at the start of the section of their event will be replaced by the next available contestant; next is defined by the 2015 Ponoka Stampede standings.
-       SB, BB, BR, TDR, SW – Ponoka Stampede reserves the right to roll contestants into the Finals (to total 12 contestants) in the event of turn outs.  In case of ties between 13 – 14 etc., tie breaker rules to decide the next contestant into the finals the procedure will be the same as determining the top twelve (12) qualifiers.
Interpretation of ground rules will be at the sole discretion of the Ponoka Stampede Rules Committee
 
PONOKA STAMPEDE SHOWDOWN FORMAT
-       There will be $15,000 held out per event for the Showdown split as follows:
1st 50%
2nd 25%
3rd 15%
4th 10%
-       If not enough qualified contestants in the showdown, payout will convert back to the average placing
-       No times or scores will be carried into the Showdown
-       All stock will be selected by the event reps and the committee
-       Order of competition will be fourth (4th) to first (1st), timed events must be split so as no back to back runs on the same horse
-       Top four (4) contestants, maximum of four (4), from the average of the rodeo will compete in the showdown 
-       If not enough qualified rides/runs for the Showdown, the highest score taken to the Finals will qualify (also includes injuries)
TIE BREAKER FORMAT TO QUALIFY FOR SHOWDOWN
SB BB BR
-       Highest score in the Finals will break ties
-       If a tie still exists the contestant with the highest score in the first (1st) go-round will break the ties
-       If a tie still exists the most accumulated money won in previous go-rounds in tied event
-       If a tie still exists the highest marked spur ride on the judges’ cards from the Finals (Top 12) will proceed
-       If a tie still exists, the Canadian Standings as of June 15, 2015 will be used
TD SW, TR
-       Fastest time in the Finals will break ties
-       If a tie still exists the fastest time in the first (1st) go-round will break the ties
-       If a tie still exists the contestant with the most money won in previous go rounds on two (2) head will advance
-       If a tie still exists, the Canadian Standings as of June 15, 2015 will be used
LBR
-       Fastest time in the Finals will break ties
-       If a tie still exists fastest time in the go-round will break ties
-       If a tie still exists the most accumulated money won in the previous go-rounds in tied event will break ties
-       If a tie still exists, the Canadian Standings as of June 15, 2015 will be used
SHOWDOWN TIE BREAKERS
All tie breakers are based on qualified rides & runs only
-       If a tie exists after the showdown contestants have competed once, there will be either a ride off or run off (depending on event) between the tied contestants to determine the champion.
-       In the roughstock events, if a ride off is required, any animals that were drawn as re-rides for the Finals and were not used will automatically be the ride off animals.
-       In the timed events, if a run off is required, the top 4 animals will be brought back for the tie breaker.
