 It was Jack Daines who got the Alberta Circuit ball rolling some forty years ago with the longtime help of Glenda Thompson of Innisfail. The Alberta Circuit presented the coveted Contway bronzes each year just prior to the Canadian Finals Rodeo. For many years the windup took place at Billy Bobs in Red Deer until last year when the presentations were part of the Night of Champions on the eve of the Canadian Finals Rodeo.
With the recent decision to discontinue the Alberta Circuit and the awards program that highlighted the end of each year, it is time to thank those who made it possible for the Circuit to play a vital role in Canadian rodeo for four decades.
The AB Circuit and its awards were made possible by the support of a tremendous group of sponsors over the years, including a number of CPRA rodeos, local businesses and longtime associates of the sport.
While Jack Daines was the force behind the Circuit for most of its existence, Rodeo Announcer David Poulsen stepped in for the last two years, after health issues forced Jack to finally slow his amazing pace and effort on behalf of the sport he loves.
 Thank you to Jack (and Glenda) for your dedication, the Contways whose amazing bronzes are treasured by everyone who ever won one, the CPRA staff and volunteers for their continued support, the member rodeos that comprised the Alberta Circuit, all the sponsors who made the Alberta Circuit possible for all these years, and Dave for stepping up for the final two years of the Circuit.
